Kenya Safari Holidays

The Masai Mara, the Great Migration and private conservancies — Kenya's finest safari experiences.

From $2,499 per person

Kenya is the birthplace of the modern safari — the country where the concept of travelling into the wilderness to observe wildlife in its natural habitat was first formalised, and where the infrastructure, guiding quality and camp standards are arguably the finest in Africa.

The Masai Mara

The Masai Mara — the Kenyan extension of Tanzania's Serengeti ecosystem — is the world's most famous wildlife reserve. The Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, rhino) are all present, alongside cheetah, wild dog, hundreds of bird species and the extraordinary annual migration. We book private conservancy camps adjacent to the Mara National Reserve for exclusive access and fewer vehicles.

The Great Migration

From July to October, 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebra and gazelle cross the Mara River in one of nature's most extraordinary spectacles. The river crossings — where vast herds leap into crocodile-filled water — are among the most dramatic wildlife events on earth. We position guests in camps with optimal river crossing access for their travel dates.

Amboseli & Kilimanjaro Views

Amboseli National Park, in southern Kenya, offers something unique: vast herds of elephant against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro. On clear mornings, the views of Africa's highest peak rising above the plains are extraordinary. We combine Amboseli with the Mara for a comprehensive Kenya safari.

Private Conservancies

The private conservancies bordering the Mara — Olare Motorogi, Naboisho, Ol Kinyei — offer an experience fundamentally different from the National Reserve. Fewer vehicles, night drives, bush walks, off-road driving. The wildlife density is comparable; the exclusivity is significantly greater. This is where we place our most discerning safari clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

July to October for the Great Migration. January and February for predator activity and fewer tourists. The long rains (April–May) and short rains (November) are the only periods we advise avoiding.

A minimum of 5 nights in the Mara gives you sufficient time for game drives at different times of day. Adding Amboseli or the northern conservancies requires 8–10 nights total.

Yes — antimalarial prophylaxis is strongly recommended for the Masai Mara and most safari areas. Nairobi itself is malaria-free. We provide a full health briefing at the time of booking.
