Barbados, St Lucia, Antigua, Jamaica and beyond — the Caribbean island for you, chosen correctly.
The Caribbean comprises over 700 islands with distinct characters, different cultures and very different travel experiences. Choosing the right island — rather than simply 'the Caribbean' — is the most important decision in planning a Caribbean holiday, and one where professional advice genuinely matters.
Barbados is polished, safe and has the finest all-round hotel infrastructure in the Caribbean — ideal for first-timers. St Lucia offers dramatic volcanic scenery, the extraordinary Piton mountains and some of the region's finest boutique resorts. Antigua has 365 beaches and an excellent sailing culture. Jamaica is the most culturally vibrant and the most musically important island in the world. Each is different.
December to April is the dry season — ideal weather, peak prices. May is excellent value with settled weather before the hurricane season. July to November is hurricane season — statistically the risk is low but the possibility exists and travel insurance is essential. October and November have the highest hurricane risk.
The Caribbean has some of the world's finest luxury resorts — Sandy Lane in Barbados, Jade Mountain in St Lucia, Curtain Bluff in Antigua. We work with all of them directly and know which room categories genuinely justify their premium pricing.
Island-hopping in the Caribbean is most practical in the Windward and Leeward Islands, where inter-island flights are frequent and short. A combination of St Lucia (2–3 nights) and Barbados (4 nights) is one of our most popular Caribbean packages — the contrast between the two islands is genuinely interesting.
St Lucia is our first recommendation — the Pitons backdrop, the boutique resort landscape and the lush tropical setting create a genuinely romantic atmosphere. Antigua and Barbados are our alternatives.
The Caribbean ranges from genuinely affordable (Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica budget end) to extremely expensive (Mustique, Anguilla, the top St Barths resorts). Most visitors spend $300–600 per person per night all-in at a good mid-range resort.
Most Caribbean islands are accessible without a visa for US, EU and UK nationals for stays under 30 days. Requirements vary by specific island and nationality — we confirm your requirements at booking.
